One More Grill, 1830 142nd Avenue, Dorr ~ March 3, 2026

It's been under new ownership for the last four years and before that, the place was called Stan's, AJ's, and probably others. The building is old. We walked in the side door and it did not seem like a bar. It felt more like family diner, complete with carpet, and a soup and salad bar.
But we rounded the corner and found a seat in room with the bar. Much better 😊
A rounded portion of the bar ties the two rooms together.
Tap handles decorate part of the old tin ceiling and sports decor fills the rest of the place.
A pool table was down at the end of the bar, and a juke box was playing most of the time but at a reasonable volume.
Beers on tap and the specials were listed.
Hamms in a can for $1.00 had to be ordered, along with Guinness on tap and a black and tan Yuengling.
We shared the Loaded Tots as our appetizer: lots of cheese, bacon, and chives.
A dipping sauce of our choice was offered, and we asked for Ranch and Sour Cream. Our bill reflected a charge of 25 cents for the Sour Cream 😏
The Tuesday Taco special was ordered and the Chicken Tacos were fresh, crisp, and tasty.
The 1/2 wet burrito special was also ordered and arrived smothered in cheese and sauce. Pretty huge for 1/2 😊
Our next choice was a Chicken Wrap with Cole Slaw, as an included side, and a small salad ordered in addition. Grilled chicken with diced tomatoes, lettuce, and Colby Jack Cheese made a satisfying meal.
Country Meatloaf with choice of potato (mashed) and a side did not disappoint. Seasoned ground sirloin mixed with onions and green peppers was covered in beef gravy. The risk of ordering meatloaf is that frequently it is heavily salted. This was not the case tonight. Thanks, OMG, for the three meals I got out of this order 😉
Our server was Mackenzie, and service all night was friendly, helpful, and efficient.
Having never been here before and with the place full of locals and regulars, we still felt welcomed. Check out OMG the next time you're near Dorr.

Out in the country on the corner of 10 Mile and Alpine you will find this historic bar. There were some fancy cars parked outside. We walked in the back door to find an empty room, a pool table, and a phone booth. We rounded the corner and found specials and the bar. It was fairly busy for a Tuesday night and the ambiance was friendly and comfortable. We started with a Goose Island Beer Hug, two Cherry Wheats, and an Arnold Palmer. We were not up for their appetizers tonight so we decided to share a couple of deep-fried hot dogs. They came with ketchup, mustard, onion, and pickle, and we quite enjoyed them. Budget-friendly at $2.25 each, they were excellent with a seemingly more intense flavor. For one of our entrees we chose the Bowtie Burger served with ketchup, mustard, mayo, onion, pickle, lettuce, and tomato. Tip Top Deluxe Bar and Grill, 760 Butterworth St SW, Grand Rapids ~ June 3, 2025

Would you walk into this place based on the outside and with no previous knowledge about it? That would be a 'no' but that would also be a mistake. The building was built in 1920 (according to Zillow) and it looks its age. This is the front entrance but you need to enter and exit on the side. This is the back. The interior though has such a cool, retro vibe that we really appreciated. The walls are covered with period artwork and concert posters. This bench and those booths are awesome. The old tin ceiling. The Beers on Tap list is up at the mahogany bar. We had an Oberon, Miller High Life, Blood Orange Honey, and a Ginger Ale, which turned out to be Vernors - only in Michigan 😉 Neither the online menu or the printed menu turned out to be accurate. Sandwiches are gone and the burgers are available only on weekends. So, that left us with the fried appetizers, which were actually quite good. Conklin Bar, 19683 Main St, Conklin MI ~ 9/17/24

This bar is well-known, not only in Conklin but state-wide, due to its very short but well-attended St. Patrick's Day parade. That is also the only day that Irish food is served. Back in the 1970s, this was Stub's Pub, owned by Bernie "Stub" Fritz, and a few reminders of that time are still here. From 1987-2015 it was Fenian's Irish Pub and owned by Terry and Mary Ann Reagan. In 2015, Mark Schneider, who was Stub's nephew, bought the place and called it the Conklin Bar.  Kathy Vandoeselaar purchased the place in March of 2024 and we not only met her, but also her sister, Mary, and her husband, Phil. It's definitely a family affair here 😊 Although the menu may not be Irish, they do have Guinness on tap so cheers for that!
